No harm will befall you, no disaster will come near your tent

This morning, the first thing greeting me on my way to work was a dead body splayed on the pavement around the corner from the house.

There were lots of people standing around, there was a police car, it was bright - 8.30am and the guard house was just 10 meters away.
Must have been a hit and run or a snatch theft. It was a youngish woman in house clothes. She was lying face down and bleeding from the head.

Shaken up I called my mom to tell her what I'd seen.
Instead of being all pity and concern, she asks me if that was why I called so early in the morning for? And then she tells me don't worry la, nothing will happen to you, cover yourself with the Blood of Jesus and OK now go to work.

Update: It was a hit and run. And I got the title Bible verse wrong.
